Scherzo (Op. 19 No. 2) - Gade

CA$3.00

The “go-and-stop” rhythm of this work is both effective and challenging. A strong rhythmic sense is needed especially in measures 10-13 and 23-26 when a type of “polyrhythm” occurs (i.e. the right hand plays regular 6/8 time while the left hand feels like 2/4, adding to the humor of the “scherzo” style). Extreme lightness and delicacy make this a most charming study.
